  • Organized key points for the Introduction and Literature Review sections, providing teammates with structured prompts using ChatGPT.

  • Researched safety and efficiency issues in modern excavators, along with potential AI and sensor integrations, using Google and ChatGPT for guidance.

  • Wrote sections 1.12, 1.121, 1.122, and 1.15 of the CA2 report.

  • Delegated remaining report sections (Proposed Solution, Benefits, Limitations, etc.), outlining key points for my groupmates.

  • Developed the Proposed Solution section based on independent research from Google searches and ChatGPT-assisted structuring.

  • Conducted an interview to deepen my understanding of reinforcement learning and Deep Q-Networks (DQNs).

  • Began drafting a script for the mock/actual presentation.

  • Organized a practice pitch session with my groupmates to refine our presentation flow and improve individual delivery.

  • Led the creation of slides, primarily focusing on the Proposed Solution, including editing mockup images of the excavator.

  • Reviewed and refined teammates' slides for a cohesive presentation.

  • Transcribed and incorporated interview content into the report.

  • I read through the whole report to ensure a smooth flow and made edits and comments to my teammates on what we need to improve.

  One reason why we chose Python is that it is very versatile. In our previous module, Civil Engineering Skills, we used Python for a variety of civil engineering applications. Its versatility allows it to do tasks for different specialties from structural analysis to project management. Python is also very efficient. It has an extensive library and framework that can easily enhance productivity. It can be programmed to do repetitive tasks, handle large datasets, and perform complex calculations, significantly simplifying and streamlining manual calculations that are traditionally time-intensive and prone to error.
